In May and By June 1st NED will have delivered two new ships to Carnival and Costa Crociere. Costa Crociere-Fascinosa
Costa Fascinosa, with its sister ship the Costa Favolosa, is the largest Italian-flagged cruise ship afloat. On May 5th, it was delivered in Venice, Italy where it had its naming ceremony. As with the Costa Favolosa delivered last year, NED provided designs for all entertainment and broadcast systems including commissioning and inspection services.
NED provided the designs for the lighting, audio and rigging systems and integrated control system for the 900-seat, three deck high show lounge, the Bel Ami Theater. The Babylon Discoteca is two decks high and features a 30-monitor video wall. The dance floor is comprised of a fully programmable LED lighting system.
The pool area contains a giant, 190 square foot LED video wall for which NED provided design and project management. It is used for movies, live feeds and events and can be viewed night or day.
Both the Costa Favolosa and the Costa Fascinosa were built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy and the entertainment systems were supplied and installed by HMS, Italia.
